5 Steps To Create A Luxury Brand Experience By Christmas
This week's blog post is written by guest blogger, the lovely Jacquie, branding expert at Bailey and Roo.
Like me, Jacquie is a maker herself, and loves working with creative businesses and artisans such as cake designers, florists, gift makers and artists to create a brand identity you can’t wait to share with the world.
There’s no better feeling than having a brand for your small business that truly represents you, your work, and your values, ensuring that each visual detail resonates with your ideal customer base. Even more important in the run-up to the busiest sales season of the year. That’s why I asked Jacquie to share with us her 5 steps to create a luxury brand experience in the run up to Christmas.
When it comes to branding, there is so much more to it than having a pretty logo and colour palette. Brand is all about the experience and how you make people feel. It’s how you position yourself in your industry and how you stand out from your competitors.
In order to have a strong brand for your business you need to do the prep work first.
Knowing exactly who it is you’re targeting. Who is your dream client or customer? What kind of experience do you want them to have when they order or buy from you? How do you want them to feel about working with you? How are you going to make their experience of shopping with you memorable with them wanting to leave you a review or recommend you to their family and friends? If this is an area you feel unsure of, get in touch to see how Retailer Resources can help.
With Christmas on the horizon and things calming down after lockdown, now is the perfect time to get your branding aligned with your business to create that luxury brand experience by the festive season!
So how do you create a luxury brand experience for your business?
Here are Jacquie’s top 5 tips to help curate your brand:
1 > Know your ideal client
This is absolutely essential for any business in order to create a strong brand that will resonate with your customers. You may have more than one ideal client for your business
2 > Look at your brand identity
Your brand identity (logo design, colour palette, graphics and fonts) sets the foundations of your business. If this isn’t aligned with your values and brand personality to attract your ideal client you’ll find this can give a mixed message to your clients. Your brand identity is essential to get right for your business. With this fully aligned you’ll find it so much easier to know what to post on social media for consistency, how you can style and photograph your products and have the elements you need to create any graphics and/or advertising campaigns for your business
3 > Curate your brand online
Once you have your brand identity right for your business, work on your style and what fits best for your imagery. Whether you’re hiring a professional or creating your own imagery, it’s important that everything is consistent to get your audience to get to like, know and trust you. You want to be recognisable from your imagery online, whether it’s a text based graphic for a testimonial, quote or promoting a special offer. Or whether it’s some lifestyle photography of your products.
Photography is absolutely key for selling products online. If you don’t have good images to reflect the high quality of your products, why would you expect your customers to invest their hard earned money in buying from you? Your images need to make your dream clients want to buy, they need to speak to them and get them wanting to find out more. Create scroll stopping images for your products and you’ll not only have better engagement on your social media channels and website, you’ll also be far more likely to have those customers wanting to get in touch with you or buy online!
4 > Packaging design and little extras
For product based businesses, your packaging adds that perfect finishing touch to your customers experience with buying from you. Whether it’s a packaged product, or the bags you use when a customer makes a purchase in your shop. What style of packaging fits best with your brand? It doesn’t have to be expensive either and there are so many environmentally friendly options out there now! Things like hand written notecards with your branding are a lovely way to add that extra touch to your orders, they’re recyclable and hand written notes show you’ve gone that extra mile for your customer.
5 > Gift guide
A fantastic way to boost sales and create that luxury brand experience at Christmas is to offer a gift guide of your products. This can include a mixture of top tips for how to add a festive twist to your other products or promoting a festive product range and suggesting the recipient for each. If you have a shop, these are a great option to have on the counter to hand out to customers. If you’re an online business, either posting a selection of printed gift guides out to your customers as they buy from you, or if you’d prefer not to print a regular email newsletter is another great option too!
These are our 5 great ways to create that luxury brand experience by Christmas. They’re great ways of getting your customers more engaged and enjoy their experience of buying from you, making them far more likely to leave you a review and/or recommend you to their friends.
Always make sure every touch point of your customers’ journey is aligned and consistent so your messaging is clear.
Happy Christmas planning!
